Dr. Potnis grew up in the Bay Area. She received her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from UC Davis. Her interest in veterinary ophthalmology was inspired through her involvement with the UC Davis Comparative Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences Laboratory. After vet school, Dr. Potnis went on to complete a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Missing the beautiful beaches and diverse cuisines, Dr. Potnis was excited to return to California to join our residency program in 2023. In her free time, she loves hiking, catching up on new movies and TV shows, baking, and spending time with her gorgeous, black, longhaired cat Spooky.

VEC Alhambra
"I was referred to this clinic by my vet after my dog developed a growth on his eyelid. Veterinary eye clinic did an amazing job taking care of my pet and me. The front desk was friendly, communicative and would follow up before and after appointments. Dr. Sheahan is truly amazing at what she does. I felt like the clinic really cared for my pet and I can’t thank them enough."

"The VEC team was so kind and thorough with our fur baby. He had a freak accident that ultimately had to end up with his eye being removed, but they helped make what was an awful situation the best it could be. They were super understanding and considerate with all things and we are so grateful for the outcome of our little man's operation. Thank you to everyone at VEC for taking care of our Enzo!"
